Join a team of publishing specialists working with clients across 50+ countries — from No.15, Jansi Cross Street, Near Kamatchi Hotel, Pondicherry - 605005's creative capital.
At Daintra, you work on content that matters — academic research, scientific journals, educational materials, and cultural archives — produced to a standard that genuinely makes a difference to how knowledge reaches its readers.
We are a specialist team, not a generalist factory. Every person here develops deep expertise in their domain — whether that's LaTeX composition, ePub3 accessibility, JATS XML, or Flash-to-HTML5 migration — and works directly with international publishers who value that expertise.
Publishing standards evolve — EPUB Accessibility 1.1, new XML schemas, updated platform requirements. We invest in keeping every team member current with structured training and access to industry resources.
You're not a number in a large production factory. At Daintra, your work is visible, your expertise is recognised, and your contribution directly shapes the quality of work we deliver to clients.
We commit to realistic turnaround times with clients — which means we don't routinely ask our team to work unreasonable hours. Sustainable quality requires sustainable working conditions.
You'll communicate directly with production editors and publishing managers at international publishers — developing professional relationships and industry knowledge that goes far beyond local market experience.
Compositor → Senior Compositor → QA Lead → Production Manager. The progression path is documented, the criteria are transparent, and we promote from within wherever possible.
Our studio is in Pondicherry — a city that combines a rich cultural environment with a genuine quality of life that's hard to find in India's larger metros. Relocation support available for candidates from outside the region.
All roles are based in our Pondicherry studio. We consider remote arrangements for senior roles on a case-by-case basis.
Typesetting complex scientific, technical, and medical content — equations, chemical structures, multi-column journal layouts. Proficiency in LaTeX and InDesign required. Experience with JATS XML a strong advantage.
Production of EPUB Accessibility 1.1 compliant ePub3 files — semantic HTML5, ARIA landmarks, alt text review, schema.org metadata, and EPUBCheck validation. Experience with Sigil, Oxygen XML Editor, or equivalent required.
Converting legacy Flash SWF content to HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript — animations, interactive quizzes, SCORM eLearning modules. Strong JavaScript required. Experience with Canvas API, GSAP, or GreenSock a strong advantage.
Independent quality review of typeset and digital publishing files — checking against client style guides, house standards, and technical specifications. Strong attention to detail and familiarity with academic publishing conventions required.
Managing production projects for international publishing clients — scheduling, client communication, quality oversight, and delivery coordination. Publishing industry experience preferred. Excellent written English essential.
We keep it straightforward. No lengthy assessments before we've spoken to you — no ghosting after interviews.
CV and a short cover note (4–5 sentences is fine) to careers@daintra.com. Tell us what you work on now and why Daintra interests you.
30-minute video call with our production lead. We'll talk about your experience, your technical skills, and what you're looking for. No trick questions.
A short paid technical task — 2–3 hours of actual work relevant to the role. We pay for your time regardless of the outcome. You evaluate us as much as we evaluate you.
Written offer within 5 business days of the assessment. Structured 30-day onboarding with a senior team member as your dedicated guide.
We're always interested in exceptional publishing professionals — compositors, editors, developers, and project managers. Send a speculative application and we'll keep you in mind as we grow.
